The 4 major benefits of office-based minimally invasive treatments:
- In-office treatment. Because office-based minimally invasive treatments
(MITs) are not surgery and do not require an incision (tissue cutting), you do not
need to be treated in a hospital. Generally, you are able to go home immediately
following the procedure at the doctor’s office.
- Lack of sexual side effects. MITs have low rates of sexual side
effects as compared to drug therapy or surgery.1,2
- Patient tolerability. Most patients are able to resume their normal
activities shortly after an MIT procedure for BPH.
Traditional surgery, on the other hand, requires a couple of months for you to heal
completely, according to the National Institutes of Health.
- Significant symptom relief. MITs will relieve your symptoms “moderately
to largely,” according to the AUA.
