LaserForBPH.com (holmiumforBPH.com)
This Web site is owned by Boston Scientific and dedicated to educating people about
the Holmium Laser treatment – a less-invasive surgical alternative to TURP
(transurethral resection of the prostate).
With holmium laser therapy, patients generally experience less pain after the procedure
and generally spend less time in the hospital than patients treated with TURP. They
are also expected to resume normal activities within a week. There are few sexual
side effects reported with holmium laser therapy, and, unlike TURP, it can be performed
on patients taking anticoagulant medications like Coumadin® (warfarin
sodium).
