The Prolieve System is an office-based minimally invasive treatment (MIT) designed for the treatment of BPH symptoms and generally takes about 45 minutes in the doctor’s office.

This Web site is owned by Boston Scientific and dedicated to educating people about the Holmium Laser treatment – a less-invasive surgical alternative to TURP (transurethral resection of the prostate). With holmium laser therapy, patients generally experience less pain after the procedure and generally spend less time in the hospital than patients treated with TURP. They are also expected to resume normal activities within a week. There are few sexual side effects reported with holmium laser therapy, and, unlike TURP, it can be performed on patients taking anticoagulant medications like Coumadin® (warfarin sodium).
